PATSY
Welcomed to the Sanctuary - December 2020
Across the Rainbow Bridge - November 2021
The Sassy One
The mini mare Patsy grew up with children, doing 4H, and with her horse family nearby, so her early years were likely full of joy. However, years passed, care declined, and when her solo owner died, the equine family left behind were in rough shape. Surrendered to Rosemary Farm by a grateful extended family, the five minis and their horse companion were transported on Christmas Eve 2020, to join The Sanctuary as our ‘Holiday Miracle Horses’.
Although suffering neglect, the 15 year old Patsy arrived in the best condition, and took her new home in stride. After basic medical care, her health improved health and her gregarious spirit emerged. Patsy loved attention, and she enjoyed brushing and engaging with people. A very pretty bright chestnut and white pinto, she was very tiny, very curious, and sometimes very stubborn!
We lost Patsy quite suddenly to colic, just before Thanksgiving 2021. Providing a merciful end is our moral contract with all of our equines, a promise that must be fulfilled. Patsy’s mother aunt Snow still resides at Rosemary Farm part of a small mini herd. Godspeed Patsy, until we meet again.
