SNICKERS

“Nickname”

In mid-May, the NYS Police seized three horses in deplorable conditions, horses in need of immediate care. Our trusted friends at Equine Rescue Resource were the first on the scene and stepped up for three equines, all immediately taken to a hospital. One remained for surgery, a senior Appaloosa gelding with an eye basically rotting in his head. There was no indication that there was any vet care and we are grateful that the police intervened. After his initial vet exam, the horse was scheduled for surgical removal of the damaged eye and transferred to Rosemary Farm Sanctuary.

This type of partnership between trusted rescues is essential, working together to provide the best future possible for horses in need. We will get him through this healing time, and get to know him bit by bit.

If his story speaks to you and you want to help us with his support and recovery, consider feeding him for a day or signing up to be a monthly sponsor for his long term care.

This kind of extreme neglect is just beyond what is excusable. We are grateful that we are still here, fighting the good fight.
