“Little Bit”
The youngest of a group of five Barbs who arrived at Rosemary Farm as part of a national rescue effort, Lillibet was a smart filly and enjoyed regular benefits to having increased training and comfort around humans. For example, she had an assigned coat for when it’s cold, and she was just fine having someone put that on her! She was tiny, due in part to her smaller breed, but likely also to a lack of any prenatal care or extra nutrition in her first year of life.
While her herd remained close at Rosemary Farm, Lillibet also found other friends her age, of different breeds and backgrounds, and she and the other youngsters would regularly go off and run about, just like any children at play.
As she grew, Lilibet demonstrated the strong and surefooted traits of the Spanish Barb line and became a young firecracker; when called for, she would whip around and kick the stuffing out of mares twice her size. Compact and colorful, both in temperament and in looks, she was a special filly that we will treasure in our hearts.
