“Nickname”
Paisley and her bonded friend Marley were destined for slaughter, of that there is no doubt. Presented directly to a Texas dealer from a ‘recipient farm’ where mares are used to carry other, fancier horse pregnancies, they were perhaps used up, or unable to carry the pregnancy, or just part of a downsize… and they were sold directly to the kill pen to sell across the border into Mexico.
How they got there is another story, fraught with humans betraying them over and over, until a private rescuer dedicated to fight on behalf of American Mustangs took up their case. The result of her tireless work and the efforts of many others is that these two have come north to Rosemary Farm, where promises are kept and they will be safe forever.
